Have you tried like everyone else feeding corn and minerals? Thinking you just hadn't found the right mix yet? Like others have you found most minerals are wasted and unabsorbed? Deer are only capable of absorbing specific minerals in specific amounts. For years, deer have been fed an over abundance of things they cannot utilize. At BUFF DADDY, we are doing things differently.
At BUFF DADDY™ we know a thing or two about feeding deer. We’ve been doing it for a combined 13 years. In 2019 we set out with one goal, to grow more robust, healthier deer. But unlike others in the field, our goal wasn’t to simply grow a trophy, it was to increase the over all health of our herds.
Every year we feed for research and development, never harvesting from more than 2 of our 7 feed sites. It's our goal to start a new herd research location each year.
Our herd research has lead us to using a five site method. This allows us to grade and understand our product from multiple points, allowing for development of deer in a larger more diverse range based on their environment and ecosystem. These five sites are as follows:
Back Yard Feeding: Whether a small urban yard or an acre or two in suburbia, backyard feeding for the pleasure of observing wildlife is the goal.
Garden Preservation: Providing an ample food supply apart from your flowers, bushes, fruit trees and vegetable plants keeps everyone happy.
Nutritionally Deficient Herds: Improving overall nutrition for deer that may be considered genetically inferior can produce marked improvements over time. In many instances, these deficiencies are mistakenly linked to genetics but are, in fact, nutritional.
New Herd Development: Improving quality food sources increases herd traffic in areas where deer have been scarce.
Limit Breaking: These are our herds where we focus on growing the largest deer possible.
Each site is focused on Nutrition. In some we will study multi product usage and the effect it may have on the deer. We also study the traffic of deer, people and the surrounding environment. Specifically the foliage, terrain, "natural or man made barriers" and their Grazing Patterns.
What started with improving a “genetically small herd” to growing that Monster Buck BUFF DADDY™ has been feeding them all. Rather keeping them out of the garden or feeding the friendly wild life of the back porch, We’re sure to increase your experience.
